The Santa Monica College Music Department is proud to present the Fall 2021 Jazz Series with performances by MFUO, Jon Mayer and Darek Oles, and the Lineage Trio.
The popular concert series begins with MFUO on Friday, September 24th. All concerts will take place at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall of the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th Street (on Santa Monica Boulevard), Santa Monica.
Tickets are available at the box office and cost $ 10 cash only. Vaccination certificate required at the door. The seats are on first arrival.
The lineup of the SMC Fall 2021 Jazz Series is:
• Friday September 24th: MFUO. Four legendary musicians – guitarist Jacques Lesure, organist Pete Kuzma, percussionist Christian Moraga and drummer Marvin “Smitty” Smith – join forces in an organ quartet to perform a concert of exciting contemporary jazz.
• Friday, October 15th: Jon Mayer / Darek Oles Duo. Master pianist Jon Mayer and renowned bassist Darek “Oles” Oleszkiewicz – two members of the elite class of musicians with a reputation that extends across the global jazz community – come together for a special concert.
• Friday November 12th: The Lineage Trio. A groundbreaking group of three of jazz’s finest young musicians – guitarist Graham Dechter, bassist Alex Frank and drummer Ryan Shaw – carry on the tradition with a not-to-be-missed performance.
