RideCo’s on-demand transit service now serves seven service zones in LA County

RideCo Inc., an industry leader in on-demand transit technology and solutions, is celebrating the upcoming launch of another micro-transit zone in the northwestern San Fernando Valley. The introduction of this zone expands the total number of service zones under the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metro Micro program.

Metro Micro is Metro’s new on-demand rideshare service, designed to go hand-in-hand with Metro’s NextGen bus schedule, designed to provide fast, safe, and convenient city travel without changing trains.

The new zone will open on September 12th and rides can be booked using the free Metro Micro-App, which is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. online at book.metro-micro.net or via the call center at 323.GO.METRO.

Service in this new zone will be available seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at an introductory price of just $ 1 per trip. Hundreds of pickup and drop-off points will be available, including key destinations such as California State University – Northridge (CSUN), Northridge Recreation Center, Northridge Fashion Center, and subway stations.

Metro Micro will also merge the Watts / Willowbrook and Compton / Artesia Zones into one large zone called the Watts / Compton Zone, which will operate from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.

There are now several Metro Micro-Zones in LA County including the newly consolidated Watts / Compton, LAX / Inglewood, El Monte, North Hollywood / Burbank, Highland Park / Eagle Rock / Glendale, and Altadena / Pasadena / Sierra Madre Zone. Another zone, the UCLA / Westwood / VA Medical Center, is expected to be operational soon as part of the Metro Micro service.
