Filming near Yorkshire and Kansas

At around 1:21 p.m. on September 6, 2021, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officials responded to a report of gunfire fired in the Yorkshire and Pico area. At the same time, another caller reported a hit and run near the same location.

When the officers arrived on site, both the alleged perpetrator and the suspicious vehicle had disappeared. The officers met with a victim and witnesses who reported that in the incident, the suspect rammed the victim’s car from the back to avoid a possible road traffic incident. The victims got out of their vehicle and were attacked while trying to escape by the suspect, who fired several shots at them. One of the victims suffered a graze on his knee and was taken to a local hospital.

SMPD detectives attempt to identify and locate the following subject and vehicle:

• Suspect: White man, 20-25 years old, six feet, slim, tattoos on the right side of his face, wearing a blue and white long-sleeved sweater, gray or tan pants and white shoes.

• Vehicle: Newer black Mercedes Benz 4-door sedan.

Anyone with additional information about this incident or person is strongly encouraged to contact Detective Haro with the Criminal Investigations Division at 310-458-2256 or the Santa Monica Department Guard Commanders (24 hours) at 310-458-8427.
