Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was in attendance when a wave of young American residents was sworn in on Wednesday, October 27th.

Lory Torres, director of the LA Field Office of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, took the oath of allegiance to 26 children during a special Halloween ceremony to honor young people who received citizenship through their parents.

Citizenship certificates were also distributed at the ceremony in the Mark Taper Auditorium of the Los Angeles Public Library on 5th Street.

Garcetti and City Librarian John Szabo welcomed the new citizens.
