santamonica.gov – Attempted arrest of a murder suspect

Santa Monica, CA – On Tuesday, 10/26/21, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) officers responded to an attack by paging a deadly weapon (knife) in the 5th / Broadway area. A juvenile suspect was eventually taken into custody for a knife stabbing that left an adult male in stable condition.

The officers reacted around 11:40 p.m. in the 5th and Broadway area. Comments on the call suggested that a suspect stabbed a victim and escaped from the scene. Several units and a forensic team were dispatched to the call, with the first local officials calling for medical assistance from the Santa Monica Fire Department. The victim was vigilant, despite being stabbed several times, and was able to provide a description of the suspect.

During the investigation, SMPD officers questioned several witnesses and found a suspect a few blocks away who matched the description provided. A female juvenile suspect has been taken into custody and charged with 664,187 PC – Attempted Murder. She was detained in a juvenile detention center pending charges.
