SigAlerts Issued For 405/101 Transition And 5 Freeway In The Valley

LOS ANGELES, CA — The rain-slickened roads lead to multiple ongoing SigAlerts during the morning rush hour in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the San Diego (405) Freeway transition to the Ventura (101) Freeway in the Sherman Oaks area due to a two-car crash. The crash, which happened shortly before 8 am was blocking the number 1 lane of the northbound 405 transition road to the eastbound 101, said CHP Officer Michael Masir.

The CHP issued the SigAlert at about 8:20 am, and it was expected to last into the 9 am hour, he said.

The CHP also issued a three-hour SigAlert for the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway Glendale Boulevard offramp. According to the CHP, the offramp is expected to close until nearly 11 am as crews work to repair a damaged guardrail following an early morning crash.

According to the CHP, a vehicle crashed through the offramp guardrail and overturned shortly after 6:30 am

Commuters are advised to avoid the area, expect delays and drive with caution on the rain and oil-slicked roads Tuesday.
