Santa Monica Trader Joe’s Recalls Popular Chicken Product

SANTA MONICA, CA – Trader Joe’s stores recalled a chicken patty after bits of bone were discovered in the product, the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Wednesday. The recall affected Trader Joe’s in Santa Monica and across the country.

The recall concerns two chicken products, Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Chicken Burgers and Spinach Feta Chicken Sliders.

Reports from consumers finding bone fragments in the chilli lime burger product resulted in nearly 100,000 pounds of potentially contaminated raw chicken being recalled by Washington-based manufacturer Innovative Solutions, which made the product.

According to the service, there have been no confirmed reports of side effects from consuming the products. She advised anyone concerned about an injury or illness to see a doctor.

Santa Monica residents who purchased any of the products were asked to discard the groceries or return the groceries to Joe’s dealer of the purchase, the service said.

Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Frank Sorba, President of Innovative Solutions Inc. at 206-365-7200 or email him at [email protected].
