Paris Jackson Sells Topanga Home and Buys Hollywood Hills Retreat

Singer, actress, and model Paris Jackson has sold the first house she ever purchased for $2.3 million. Jackson’s estate was located in the mountains of Topanga Canyon in the rugged hills between Malibu and the San Fernando Valley. Dirt reports that she is headed to the Hollywood Hills, where she’ll reside in her newly purchased $3.8 million woodsy cabin. The estate was once owned by singer Rock Hudson. The house then fell into the hands of Canadian singer-songwriter KD Lang, who sold the property in 2012 to Maroon 5 keyboard player Jesse Carmichael—who put the property up for sale at $4 million and eventually sold it to Jackson.

The property is invisible behind walls and gates but packs three bedrooms and two full baths into about 3,000 square feet of living space. The cabin-style house also includes a detached garage which was converted into a music studio by one of the previous owners. The premise also includes an art studio, forested grounds and a freeform saltwater pool and spa. You’ll also find a freestanding sauna and gardens linked by meandering pathways surrounded by greenery.

The two-level home’s main floor includes a movie theater, a kitchen with redwood cabinets and heated slate floors, two guest bedrooms and a two-way stone fireplace, warming both the living and dining rooms simultaneously. There is a wall of French doors which opens to a wooden deck that provides tranquil views of the canyon below. The home’s entire lower level is dedicated to the main bedroom suite, which includes a fireplace, sitting area, bespoke dressing room and closet. The bathroom is renovated with dual vanities and a soaking tub.

Jackson’s former Topanga estate lay on more than an acre of land. She acquired the property in 2017 for $2 million and quietly sold it back in late 2020.
