Metrolink Expands Saturday Service on Ventura County Line – Daily News

Metrolink announced on Monday, August 9th, the expansion of Saturday service for the Ventura County Line starting tomorrow, adding connections to three additional stations – Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura-East between Moorpark and Los Angeles.

The Ventura County Line’s Saturday service already connects Moorpark, Simi Valley, Chatsworth, Northridge, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale and Los Angeles.

Adults can purchase $ 10 weekend day passes, valid for unlimited travel on Metrolink trains on Saturday and Sunday, and three children 17 and under travel for free per adult. The paid Metrolink fare includes transfers to the Los Angeles County Metro’s bus, subway, and light rail systems.

The air in all Metrolink trains is circulated through antimicrobial air filters that destroy 99.98% of viruses and bacteria, and each car is equipped with two hand disinfection stations. Cars are disinfected all day.

“From our beaches to our cities, connecting all parts of Southern California is vital to revitalizing our region’s post-pandemic economy,” said Tony Trembley, Metrolink board member and vice chairman of Ventura County’s Transportation Commission. “It’s not just local businesses that need the support, I think we all want to get out of the house and have fun. Metrolink is the best place to start a summer day trip or a relaxing break. ”

“The expanded Saturday service means even more families can enjoy safe, affordable travel to explore Ventura and Los Angeles and avoid bumper-to-bumper freeway traffic on weekends,” said Darren Kettle, Executive Director of VCTC.

“Providing affordable, comfortable and safe transportation to people is the safest way for our region to recover from the pandemic,” said Arnold Hackett, interim CEO of Metrolink. “This Metrolink service provides economic benefits to business districts along the Ventura County Line and throughout the San Fernando Valley.

The Saturday connection starts at 8.15 a.m. in Ventura East, arriving at Union Station at 10:07 a.m.
