People can also apply for the Low-Income Fare Is Easy (LIFE) program online at bit.ly/3x6RYe5.

The program offers discounted transit passes, including $ 6.50 for a 7-day pass – a saving of $ 13 – and $ 26 for a 30-day pass – a saving of $ 50. Newly registered drivers also receive 90 days of free rides.

Metro officials say the LIFE application process has been streamlined and it only takes minutes to fill out forms with basic information about applicants and other household members.

Applicants can use their phone to take photos of ID cards, upload the pictures, and email the information to Metro. The income can be certified yourself if there is no proof.

Drivers living in the cities of Antelope Valley, Central Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, South Bay, or Westside can email their applications to [email protected].

Drivers living in the Gateway Cities or the San Gabriel Valley can email their applications to [email protected].

Residents can also submit applications to any Los Angeles County Metro Customer Service Center.

“We’re making it as easy as possible to help everyone save on fares, because these days a little help can go a long way,” said Metro boss Stephanie Wiggins earlier this month. “The LIFE program and half tariffs can help all of our drivers make savings when driving in our region.”
