Horvath, Hertzberg Will Face Off At Malibu Forum: LA Co. District 3

MALIBU, CA — Success at the June 7 statewide primary was just he beginning for West Hollywood City Councilmember Lindsey Horvath and state Senator Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys).

The two will go head-to-head at a candidate forum in Malibu on Sunday hosted by the Malibu Democratic Club. The forum will last from 2-4 pm at the Malibu Library, located at 23519 West Civic Center Way. RSVP to [email protected] to attend Sunday’s forum.

Horvath and Hertzberg were the two top vote-getters in the June 7 election, narrowly edging out stat Senator Henry Stern (D-Malibu). Hertzberg led the pack with 31.08 percent of the vote, followed by Horvath with 27.74 percent. Stern trailed behind with 24.31 percent of the vote, losing his shot at the District 3 seat.

The winner of the Nov. 8 election will oversee the massive third district, which covers much of the San Fernando Valley and communities from Malibu to Hollywood. Supervisor Sheila Kuehl currently oversees the district but did not run for reelection.

The club will ask candidates about a range of issues affecting Malibu residents and the greater Los Angeles area.

“I’m eager to engage with Malibu and all third district voters on the issues that matter most. From fire safety to protecting our environment, voters deserve to know how we will approach challenging problems with innovative and results-driven solutions,” Horvath said in a news release.

“Thank you to the Malibu Democratic Club for hosting this forum to discuss the vital issues facing the Third Supervisorial District. I’m looking forward to an important discussion on how we can move our community forward,” Hertzberg said.
