LOS ANGELES, CA — A gunman shot and killed a 20-year-old man in the parking lot of a Kohl’s Department store in Sun Valley late Monday night, and police are looking for his killer.
Detectives are asking for help identifying the gunman Tuesday.
The shooting happened just before 10 pm Monday outside the Kohl’s department store at 8501 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responding to a report of shots fired “were redirected to a local hospital where they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was approached by a suspect with a gun who fired a single shot,” according to the LAPD.

The victim’s friend drove the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to detectives, the suspect fled in an unknown direction in a dark-colored vehicle.

He was described as 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing about 250 pounds. He wore a light blue medical mask.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
