Zpizza West Hollywood is Moving to a Nearby WeHo Location

Zpizza West Hollywood is moving. The beloved artisan-inspired pizza joint located at 8869 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of WeHo’s LGBT Rainbow District, is relocating to a nearby location. An employee confirms that they are staying in the neighborhood and moving to 8943 Santa Monica Boulevard, which is the former home of Marinate restaurant (prior to that, it was the short-lived Cock Dog hotdog eatery).

The new space will open four doors away from Greenwich Village Pizza, which has been at 8937 Santa Monica Boulevard since 1981.

A Public Notice of Application for Ownership is up at 8943 Santa Monica. The Applicant is CRUZT LLC (as in pizza crust). Opencorporates.com, an open database of the corporate world, states CRUZT was incorporated on February 14, 2022 (9 months ago). The agent attached to CRUZT LLC is David Fanarof, who also happens to be the owner of Zpizza West Hollywood.

8oz Poke, which was located next door to Zpizza, shuttered in October 2020. The space has been vacant for the past two years. There have been rumors circling Zpizza’s potential demise due to rent issues with landlord Monte Overstreet. According to the rumor mill, Overstreet wants to combine the 8oz Poke Space with Zpizza to make one space, possibly another bar, but those rumors are not confirmed. A source at Zpizza says there is no drama surrounding the move. They are not being pushed out.

A date has not been set for the move of the pizzeria. The relocation is estimated to happen sometime in the beginning of next year, but there are many delays to open a business in West Hollywood, so it could take much longer.

Founded in 1986 in the heart of Laguna Beach, CA, Zpizza is the first artisan inspired pizza chain that appeals to traditional pizza lovers, health-conscious consumers and gourmet palates with its artisan brick oven pizzas, salads, pastas and sandwiches. They combine select ingredients using award-winning skim mozzarella from Wisconsin, certified organic tomato sauce, MSG-free pepperoni, additive-free sausage, and fresh produce.
