SANTA MONICA, CA – Yoga-urt is expanding in Los Angeles, bringing herbal, handcrafted goodies to Santa Monica.
The company schedules its soft open Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1700 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. It’s twice the size of the Echo Park store and has seven to 10 different changing flavors.
To celebrate the big move to the Westside, a grand opening is scheduled for October 16 at 1700 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. The company will be distributing free minis to customers this weekend from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and showcasing their compostable cups.
Melissa Schulman founded the company mixing sweet and health conscious frozen desserts that are handcrafted on-site and in small batches, starting with a hand-pressed almond and cashew milk base.
“Each soft portion is enriched with high-quality, healthy ingredients and is nourished with four probiotic strains that are essential for the intestine – L. casei, L. rhamnosus, L.acidophilus, L. bifidum,” the company says. “The careful, gentle cooking process leads to intestinal-friendly soft ice cream that is completely soy-free and kosher, free of artificial flavors, preservatives and refined sugar.”
It’s something the people on the Westside wanted, the company said.
“Customers have been asking for new business for several years, and I’ve wanted a store on the Westside for a while as a great opportunity to expand our community,” said Schulman.
“We appreciate the continued support from our customers and look forward to introducing Yoga-urt to residents of the Santa Monica area,” said Schulman. “We will continue to honor this place as a peaceful place where the community can gather and enjoy the innocent selection of healthy and authentically prepared soft ice cream from Yoga-urt in an environmentally conscious environment.”
Yoga-urt takes over the Treats Frozen Yogurt division, which has been located on Ocean Park Boulevard for 10 years.
“The owners were ready to move on, which was a great opportunity for Yoga-urt,” said the company.
Foodies in the Santa Monica area can satisfy their sweet tooth with Yoga-urt’s flavored soft serve options, such as Chocolate Bliss, Strawberry Serenity, Salted Caramel Zen, Beautiful Blueberry, Cookies & Cream, Naturally Sweetened Sweet Greens, Lavender Blossom, vanilla harmony and more.
You can get it in a compostable mug, a homemade gluten-free cone, an ice cream biscuit sandwich with biscuits made from recycled almond and cashew pulp, or in Yoga-urts delicious frozen cakes. Yoga-urt also offers coffee from LA’s popular Groundwork Coffee Co. and tea from The Art of Tea.
