Wyatt Russell Bought a Los Angeles House – DIRT

Though Wyatt Russell enjoys unplugging from the world and trekking cross country for months at a time in his decked-out Mercedes Sprinter van, the pro hockey player-turned-actor — best known as the new Captain America on the Disney+ and Marvel Studios series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” — has settled on more permanent digs in Los Angeles. Records reveal Russell (the only son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn) and his actress wife Meredith Hagner recently picked up the keys to a $5.4 million home in the picturesque Santa Monica Canyon neighborhood.

Originally listed for $4.8 million, Russell’s newly acquired Monterey Colonial-style property was built in 1930, and includes four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths in just over 3,100 square feet of updated living space adorned throughout with rich hardwood floors, arched doorways, wood-paneled ceilings and bespoke light fixtures. Those features and a secluded locale on one of the most sought after streets in Santa Monica attracted a bidding war.

Tucked away behind gates and high hedges, the two-level white and terracotta-roof structure is accented with black shutters and fronted by the original brick entry. Once inside, a foyer displaying a curved staircase leads to the main level, which is highlighted by a living room sporting an ebony-hued fireplace flanked by a wet bar. Two sets of French doors spill out into a brick courtyard and grassy terraced area ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining with a cozy fireplace and water fountain.

Other standout attributes include a marble-clad kitchen outfitted with high-end stainless appliances, an eat-in island and a sunny breakfast nook; there’s also a formal dining room and family room that open to the backyard. Upstairs, four bedrooms include a spacious master suite featuring a balcony, plus a luxe marble bath equipped with dual vanities and a large walk-in shower.

Russell, 35, transitioned to acting in 2010 after a hip injury ended his hockey career. He appeared in uncredited roles in several Kurt Russell movies, including “Escape from LA,” “Overboard” and “Soldier,” before going on to star in films and TV shows such as “21 Jump Street,” “Black Mirror,” “ Overlord,” “Lodge 49” and “The Woman in the Window.” He recently returned to his hockey roots as a celebrity goalie for the NHL Breakaway Challenge, part of the 2022 NHL All-Star Skills competition.

For now, Russell and Hagner still own a smaller home in the Studio City area of Los Angeles; they paid about $1.7 million for that place back in 2019.
