Warning regarding the use of ocean water for bodies of water near the Santa Monica Pier

SANTA MONICA, CA – A warning was issued on Tuesday evening regarding the use of seawater for bodies of water near the Santa Monica Pier.

“The warning was issued because of bacterial levels that exceeded health standards in the last test,” said county health officials.

The Los Angeles County Department of Health warned surfers and swimmers to be cautious about swimming in bodies of water near the following areas:

  • Santa Monica Pier
  • Mother beach in Marina del Rey
