Vrbo South by Los Angeles for Allegedly Violating City Rental Law

Los Angeles is accusing short-term rental platform Vrbo of violating its rental laws in a lawsuit and is asking a court to block the company from processing bookings for properties that are not officially registered with the city.

A city ordinance aimed at limiting the “negative consequences” of short-term vacation rentals, which include reduced housing supply and increased nuisance activity, requires property owners to apply with the city and receive an official registration number before listing their rental, according to the suit from the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
