Get ready to show your love for your favorite Santa Monica businesses! From February 10-28, 2022, the Santa Monica community is encouraged to nominate their most loved restaurant, gym, outdoor dining spot, and more.
“We are excited to announce the launch of the Most Loved Santa Monica businesses contest of 2022 with the Santa Monica Daily Press and our Buy Local Santa Monica partners,” said City of Santa Monica’s Economic Development Manager Jennifer Taylor. “This annual contest is one of the most important ways that the City, our residents and local business community can come together to celebrate our Santa Monica businesses.”
Nominations started on Thursday, February 10 and close on Monday, February 28. The top five finalists will then progress to the Most Loved 2022 voting round (March 14-31). Votes will be tallied by the Buy Local Santa Monica Executive Committee in partnership with the Santa Monica Daily Press. Buy Local Santa Monica is a partnership created by the City and Santa Monica business community to help promote our local businesses and encourage people to shop, eat, and play local! The Most Loved Contest winners will be announced in May at an awards ceremony at City Hall and will be recognized throughout the year in the Most Loved Santa Monica Businesses 2022 publication, which appeals to locals and visitors alike.
Voting will be held in two phases. The first is a nomination period open from February 10-28. At the end of the first phase, the top five businesses will advance to the finals for a runoff with final voting to occur between March 14-31. Vote for as many categories as you can. One nomination/vote per person per day. Good luck and have fun!

WHO: This annual Most Loved Santa Monica contest (now in its 9th year) is an initiative of the Buy Local Santa Monica Committee and the Santa Monica Daily Press in partnership with our local business improvement districts (Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., Main Street , Montana Avenue and Pico Boulevard), the Santa Monica Chamber, Santa Monica Pier Corp., Santa Monica Travel and Tourism and the City of Santa Monica. WHAT: The “Most Loved Santa Monica Businesses” contest was launched in 2014 by the Buy Local Santa Monica Committee. Now in its ninth year, the contest has grown rapidly. We invite our residents of all ages, local employees and visitors to participate. From the most loved coffee bar to the favorite Santa Monica Farmers Markets’ vendor, we put the call out to discover and celebrate the Most Loved Businesses in Santa Monica. This year, we have also added new categories including “Most Loved Santa Monica Outdoor Dining Spot” and some new restaurant/food categories! We want to know which businesses our locals cannot live without, which ones put smiles on their faces when they drop in, and the ones we most want to celebrate because they are so awesome.
