In anticipation of a busy Christmas season, the United States Postal Service hires more than 40,000 seasonal workers and hosts job fairs in the Los Angeles area.
Seasonal employment opportunities include, but are not limited to, urban and rural mail carriers, mail handlers, and drivers. Christmas time is the agency’s peak mail and parcel delivery season, according to the USPS.
“Our entire organization is geared towards ensuring a successful Christmas season. To make this possible, we need great people who will join us to contribute to our local communities and our nation, ”said Louis DeJoy, CEO and Postmaster General, in a statement. “Swiss Post offers many opportunities for seasonal work. For many, a seasonal job can be the start of an exciting career at Swiss Post. “
To aid seasonal hiring efforts, the Postal Service is holding 58 job fairs in select cities across the country, several of them in the Los Angeles area, starting Tuesday.

- September 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Los Angeles Post Office, 11270 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064
- September 22, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Irvine Post Office, 15642 Sand Canyon Ave., Irvine, CA 92619

USPS officials said the job fairs will be walk-in events and postal services staff will be available to help with any questions about benefits, qualifications and job applications. Attention is paid to social distancing and a mask is required.
