Tree crushes about 30 cars at the Greek Theater in LA – NBC Los Angeles

Nearly 30 cars were damaged when a tall pine tree fell in a concert parking lot at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.

A 35-year-old woman sustained a leg injury when the Aleppo jaw fell at around 8 p.m. in the concert hall in Griffith Park. The injury to the woman is not considered life threatening.

Firefighters searched smashed cars for possible victims but found no one.

“We weren’t in the car when it happened so thank God we’re fine,” said Jared Wight, whose car was covered in large branches. “At the end of the day it’s just a car.”

Concert goers said an announcement was made in the theater about the fallen tree.

The fire department estimated that the tree was approximately 40 to 50 meters long. It wasn’t immediately clear how long it would take the crews to remove the tree, which was cut into smaller segments early Thursday.
