Three arrested in Koreatown – NBC Los Angeles

Three men were arrested in a brawl near a supermarket in Koreatown that left one man dead and another man hospitalized.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to Sixth Street and Alexandria Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday to report a group fight. The location is near a 7-Eleven.

Officers arrived and found the victim stabbed. An argument led to a brawl, which the victim tried to break up, police said.

A man with the victim was then punched and kicked, police said. This person was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The name of the mortally wounded man has been withheld pending notification of his family.

“Investigators identified a suspicious vehicle and tracked the vehicle to an address in Echo Park,” police said in a statement.

On Saturday, police arrested the two men believed to be responsible for the beating of the surviving man, police said. Josue Alegria and Damian Dehorney, both 26, have been charged with attempted murder and are being held on bail of $1 million each.

On Sunday, the man suspected of fatally stabbing the man turned himself in to homicide, police said. Jose Garibay, 26, was charged with murder and being held on $2 million bail.
