Through layers of inviting textures, timeless mid-century furniture and trimmings, luxurious terrazzo detailing, and a curated selection of modern art, Thompson Hollywood is redefining the concept of Hollywood glamor and is poised to be one of Los Angeles’ trendiest destinations for the culturally savvy traveler to be and locals alike.
Thompson Hotels are known for offering world-class culinary destinations on hotel premises. Thompson Hollywood offers two extraordinary food and drink experiences created and operated by Ten Five Hospitality. These include the signature restaurant Mes Amis designed by Martin Brudnizki, a modern French brasserie, and Bar Lis, a rooftop lounge inspired by the French Riviera with a spectacular panoramic view of Hollywood and the greater Los Angeles area.
Run by celebrated chef Lincoln Carson, Mes Amis (French for “My Friends”) draws its inspiration from bustling cafés and brasseries from Paris to Lyon and at the same time reflects a distinctly Southern California sensibility. The menu reinterprets classic French dishes with an accessible twist, using the freshest produce and ingredients from local farms and markets, including the world famous Hollywood Farmers’ Market. Mes Amis is a new chapter for Chef Carson after his nationally acclaimed Bon Temps, which was recognized by Food & Wine, Esquire and the Los Angeles Times. As an industry leader and a James Beard Foundation nominated pastry chef, Carson also has stints at New York’s Le Bernardin, La Cote Basque, The Mina Group, Superba Food + Bread and more.
Bar Lis, designed by Bernadette Blanc, is located on Thompson Hollywood and represents the crown jewel of the experience. Chic without pretension, the new lounge on the roof captures the iconic spirit and the playful, cultivated atmosphere of the Cote D’Azur. Enjoy inventive cocktails and fresh local seafood bites, raw vegetables and authentic bistro classics al fresco, and enjoy sunset hour with uninterrupted views of the Hollywood Hills, including the Hollywood Sign. The retractable roof of Bar Lis provides year-round entertainment whatever the weather, while a separate entrance with a private elevator enables more exclusive soirees. At night, Lis Bar comes alive with vintage and contemporary DJ sets and is the perfect place to round off your stay.
“The launch of Thompson Hollywood in one of Los Angeles’ most sought-after real estate markets is a game changer for the hospitality brand,” said Grant King, Managing Partner of Relevant Group. “Not only is this property perfectly located at the legendary intersection of technology, media and entertainment, but it will inevitably increase Hollywood’s visibility as a coveted hospitality destination.”
Located near the Sunset Strip, Runyon Canyon, Hollywood Bowl, Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Boulevard, Capitol Records Building and more, Thompson Hollywood is in the nexus of Los Angeles’ most attractive attractions. The property joins other Thompson hotels slated to debut in 2021, including Thompson Savannah, Thompson Denver, Thompson Buckhead, and Thompson Austin.
