Things to do this Memorial Day 2022 in Greater Los Angeles | KIIS FM

There will be multiple celebrations for Memorial Day across Greater Los Angeles and beyond.

At Forest Lawn Cemetery, another Memorial Day Celebration will take place virtually and this one will include patriotic music, a ceremonial wreath presentation, a rifle salute, a color guard procession, and more. This event, which won’t be held in person, will take place May 30.

The Happy Face Music Festival takes place Saturday, May 28 from 1 pm to 8 pm in Simi Valley. Kick off the 2022 summer season with this rockin’ summertime music party. It’ll feature good music, good food, and good drinks as well. There will be over 150 vendor booths that offer crafts and Louisiana-styled food.

Fiesta Hermosa at Hermosa Beach takes place the full weekend from May 28 to May 30. The event will feature a 250+ street vendors, a garden featuring local bands and yard games, a carnival with games, a Ferris wheel, and carnival food, and a beach concert as well. There will also be an Art Festival featuring 75+ fine art booths and even a bike corral where they’ll watch your bike for you for free.

The Topanga Days Country Fair takes place on May 29th and May 30th and will feature upwards of 10 live music acts, games including sack races, water balloon basketball, and an egg toss, and more, and a parade which takes place on Monday. There will also be plenty of food trucks and vendors at the event.

At Santa Monica Pier there will be a Memorial Day ceremony. The iconic ceremony will be just north of the famous Santa Monica Pier. An exact date for the celebration has not yet been confirmed, but it will be late May 2022.

MAINopoly: A Taste of Main Street is a 1-day event in which much of Main Street in Santa Monica will turn into an interactive Monopoly board game. Attendees will be allotted “MAINopoly dollars’ to be exchanged for food at the street’s best establishments. The 7th annual event takes place on May 29 and tickets begin at $20. Prizes for winners include gift cards to local restaurants, swag bands, and more.

If Jazz and Reggae are more your scene then the JazzReggae Festival at UCLA’s Sunset Recreation Center will be a great way to spend Monday, May 30th. While the lineup has yet to be announced, the 35th annual celebration will feature tons of music, food and non-food vendors, and art.

The Lightning in a Bottle festival kicks off on May 25 and goes until May 30. Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Black Coffee, and Chet Faker will be some of the headliners for the event. While it’s a bit of a trek to Bakersfield, the vegetarian festival will make it well with you while with tons of food, art, yoga, wellness, and music.

At the Anaheim Convention Center, a Star Wars Celebration that is out of this galaxy will be underway from the 26th of May to the 29th. Tickets are still available for Thursday but will likely sell out. The event will feature major announcements, immersive exhibits, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guest, panels, autograph sessions and more.

If you’re a fan of all things Western, the Pioneertown International Film Festival is an event you can’t miss. The inaugural film festival, staged on a 1940s-style Old Western movie set, will feature starry outdoor dinners and an exquisite western dining experience. The festival will feature over two dozen screenings of various Western films. It will take place from May 27 to May 29.
