At the construction sites near Padaro, there was an accident with four vehicles on Monday – the second in the area within a few hours – and put the traffic on a slow crawl, the latest of accidents and traffic jams in the construction sites. The accident required three tow services and resulted in heavy traffic jams.

The speed limit in construction sites remains at 55 miles per hour.

Construction on the Highway 101 project continues, with several closings planned over the next several months.

On the north side, a lane between Linden Avenue and North Padaro Lane will be closed on Sunday evenings between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and Monday to Thursday between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

The entrances and exits on Santa Monica Road will remain closed, the reopening is scheduled for November 22nd. Up and down ramps and shoulder areas.

The Sheffield Drive exit is slated to reopen in early 2022, while the driveway will reopen in mid-2022.

On the south side, a lane between Sheffield Drive and Santa Claus Lane will be closed on Sunday evenings between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM and Monday through Thursday between 8:00 PM and 7:30 AM.

In the Summerland segment, which is between Sheffield Drive and North Padaro Lane, construction teams focus on leveling floors, pouring concrete, installing rebar and paving the underside of the carriageway. Crews are working on center pillars and the underside of the bridge spans at the Sheffield Drive interchange, as well as the retaining walls and overhanging areas of the Evans Avenue underpass.

At Greenwell Creek, construction teams are installing new landscaping for the plant habitats.

Construction teams continue to work on bridge spans and side supports on the Arroyo Parida and Toro Creek Bridges, as well as on the side supports and foundation foundations at the intersections of Santa Claus Lane and South Parado Lane.

The concrete mixing point remains near the driveway to the north Padaro lane.

Close to the Rancho Granada and San Roque mobile home parks, along Via Real between Bailard Avenue and Carpinteria Creek, construction crews are focusing on improving drainage. You will also start working on the solid wall foundations.
