Late on Wednesday evening, a police dog contacted Renteria in an area of thick vegetation and began tugging his arm before police officers arrived to arrest him. The wanted man had previously been seen crawling through the bushes in the area while trying to evade police.

Detectives believe Renteria is the same man who was spotted by surveillance cameras armed with a rifle multiple times. Although none of the break-ins he is suspected of were violent, authorities were concerned about the possibility that he could become violent, as he was often seen with guns and rifles.
