The Santa Monica Police Department arrested a teenage suspect for attempted murder this week.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), officials responded to an attack with a deadly weapon (knife) in the 5th Street and Broadway area around 11:40 p.m. on October 27

“Comments on the call indicated that a suspect stabbed a victim and fled the scene,” said SMPD Lieutenant Rudy Flores.

Several units and a forensic team were dispatched to the call, with the first local officials calling the Santa Monica Fire Department for medical assistance.

“The victim was vigilant, despite being stabbed several times, and was able to provide a description of the suspect. During the investigation, SMPD officers questioned several witnesses and found a suspect a few blocks away who matched the description provided, “said Flores.

The male victim is in stable condition at the time of publication.

A female juvenile suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder. She was detained in a juvenile detention center pending charges.

“We will not publish your personal information or your picture,” said Flores.
