Support KCRW and podcasts like Bodies during the season of giving

Hello listeners,

The past two years have been challenging in many ways. And with so many of us at home, making connections is more important than ever.

As the producer and host of body, it has always been one of my goals to create a community among our listeners and let them know that they are not alone. When the pandemic broke out, we continued reporting and produced our podcast. My bedroom became my recording studio. We sent a recorder to Ohio so Angelina Fanous could record her story about finding pleasure in living with ALS (see our award-winning episode, Not This Again). In Postpartum in a Pandemic, reporter Kalaisha Totty shared her personal stories with a birthing doula about the birth in 2020. We heard from our listeners that bodies kept them company and gave them hope.

This in-depth coverage and intimate storytelling takes time, resources and a great team of producers, reporters, composers and editors. If you support KCRW during the season of giving, podcasts like Bodies are helping. With whatever amount you give back to KCRW, we can continue to pursue ambitious stories that expose the injustices in our system and together build knowledge about our health.

Plus, your dollars are only doubled today by a generous $ 12,500 Challenge grant from KCRW fans Ashley, Matt, Wyatt and Marlowe Klinewho understand and support our work in bodies: “We love KCRW because its fundamental purpose is to make our world a better place – to open our minds to new ideas and to stimulate new thinking; to comfort us with community, culture and maybe a new song to brighten up every day; and to remember all the important stories in the world except our own. ”

Thank you for your support and for listening,

Allison Behringer
Host & Producer of Bodies
