Strong Winds Expected in Malibu Jan. 21-23 • The Malibu Times

WARNING: FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY MODERATE TO STRONG OFFSHORE WINDS, FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY STRONGEST

Wind: NE gusts of 50-70 mph. Occasional gusts of up to 80 km/h are possible. Strongest Friday night and Saturday. 10-15 mph weaker Saturday night into Sunday.

Strongest over most of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, Central Coast Hills. Winds will be more widespread than usual Santa Ana events.

The entire San Fernando Valley is affected. Larger parts of the San Gabriel Valley and the LA Coastal Plain affected (including Long Beach and Pasadena). (Gusts 25-40mph).

Humidity: At least 15-25 percent. Occasionally up to 10 percent possible. Driest Saturday.

Temperatures: Highs 65-75 common. Short (1-3 hours) and localized critical wind/RH combinations are likely, but due to recent rains and increased fuel humidity, red flags are not being considered.

Possible effects include wind damage, fallen trees and power outages.

California law requires motorists to approach any intersection with a non-working traffic signal as an all-way stop sign. That means coming to a standstill.
