‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Wins 3 Kids’ Choice Awards

SANTA MONICA, CA — “Spider-Man: No Way Home” won for favorite movie and its stars Tom Holland and Zendaya for favorite movie actor and actress at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards while Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo both won two awards.

The ceremony was held Saturday at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar, hosted by Miranda Cosgrove and four-time Super Bowl-winning tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Eilish won for favorite album for “Happier Than Ever” while its title track won for favorite song. Other music winners included Ariana Grande for favorite female artist, Ed Sheeran for favorite male artist, BTS for favorite music group and Rodrigo for favorite breakout artist.

Rodrigo also won for favorite female television star of a kids’ program for her portrayal of musical theater enthusiast Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ mockumentary musical drama, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” Castmate Joshua Bassett won for favorite male television star of a kids’ program while the program won for favorite kids TV show.

The Paramount+ revival of the 2007-12 Nickelodeon comedy “iCarly won for favorite family television show and its star Miranda Cosgrove for favorite female television star from a family show.

The other movie winners were “Encanto” for favorite animated movie and Scarlett Johansson for favorite voice from an animated movie for supplying the voice of teenage porcupine punk rock guitarist Ash in “Sing 2.”

The ceremony included a video message from first lady Jill Biden about the resilience of Sunday’s youngest generation, especially children of military members and veterans, and encouraged America’s youth to keep giving back to their communities.

The annual awards show honoring younger viewers’ favorite stars, sports figures, musicians, movies and television programs is known for its liberal doses of green slime dumped on celebrities to the delight of the audience.

There were a record 1,000 slimings in Saturday’s ceremony, including of the Trojan Marching Band.

Presenters included LeBron James, Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Swift, Adele, Awkwafina, Eilish, Cardi B, Grande, Holland, Rodrigo and Sheeran.

The awards were chosen by fan voting.
