Sony Santa Monica Veterinarian David Hewitt to become Monolith’s new studio manager

A new GamesBeat event is just around the corner! Find out more about what’s next.

Warner Bros. Games announced today that David Hewitt is the new studio director and vice president of Monolith Productions.

Hewitt most recently served as Director of Product Development at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio. He had been at the Santa Monica studio for over 10 years – specifically working on the God of War franchise, including the 2018 reboot – and left in August.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War was the last Monolith release, and that was in 2017. We don’t know what the next project is.

“I’ve been a fan of Monolith for many years because of the long list of great games they have made, so it’s extremely exciting to be joining this storied team,” Hewitt said in a press release to GamesBeat. “I’m really inspired and look forward to working with this team to focus on a new vision and build on making great games with the support of Warner Bros.”
