Seymour Tenenberg
December 28, 1934 – February 7, 2022
San Luis Obispo, California – Seymour Eugene Tenenberg, or known affectionately as Si, SE, or Sonny, passed away on February 7th, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years Flo (Tootsie) Tenenberg.
Survived by his 2nd wife, Marilyn, his four daughters Cindy(David) Bogstad, Bonnie(Steve) Lancaster, Michele(Doro) Ramierz and Nikki(Parris) Afetian. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tara(Chris) Lamb, Lindsey Hancock, Christopher(Liz) Bogstad, Allie(David) DeLancy, Samantha(Gregg) Anderson, Megan Afetian, and Marissa(Kyle) Dong and Great-Grandchildren Jacob, Katie , Karis, Finn, Chase, Kenton, Autumn and Shelby.
He was born on December 28, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Adeline and Willard Tenenberg. In 1952, he joined the Marine Corp. While in the marines, he met the love of his life, his beloved Tootsie (Flo) and they married in 1955. Together they raised 4 devoted daughters in the San Fernando Valley. They resided in Northridge until the death of Tootsie in 1992. He married his 2nd wife Marilyn, who loved and cared for him for almost 30 years and moved to San Luis Obispo.
His lifetime career was in the aerospace industry which included years at Packard Bell and Litton Industries. At Litton, his job titles were Project Manager and eventually Vice President of Marketing. During this time, he traveled all over the world, working with many high-ranking officials from various governments. After over 30 yrs. at Litton, he retired.
One of his greatest honors was being a Marine. He often said quite proudly “Once a Marine, Always a Marine”!
During his retirement, his passion and devotion to the armed forces lead him to start “Helping Soldiers in the Desert”. Through this, he was able to send over 23,000 care packages to soldiers in a 15-year period. He created a community of volunteers and was very well respected and loved thru out the local community. Thru many challenging times, he never once waived or gave up his desire to support the men and women serving our country. Even on the day of his death, he made sure any requests for care packages would be fulfilled.
His greatest joy was being with his family who loved him very much. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held in Southern California and in San Luis Obispo.
