Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. is partnering with Fit Girl Club LA to host weekly Self-Care Saturdays on Third Street Promenade through December 18. Classes are free and vary per week with a diverse mix of workout styles such as yoga, Pilates, Krav Maga, dance cardio, kickboxing, and more. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, towel, and water for maximum enjoyment.
During the training series, local minority owned businesses will also be featured that offer unique and often handcrafted items with a focus on self care. Visitors are encouraged to mingle with like-minded fitness enthusiasts, shop, dine, or visit the famous Santa Monica Farmers Market, open 8:00 am to 1:00 pm every Saturday.
Fit Girl Club LA is also hosting the Conscious Night Market on the boardwalk on Saturday, December 4th, from 2pm to 8pm, which is free to the public. The pop-up craft market features unique merchandise from over 50 local vendors, mostly women-run businesses in fashion, candles, plants, and crystals. In addition to live music and children’s performances, market visitors can also shop for upscale and sustainable brands. Santa Claus will be visiting the market in time for the holidays as part of Sleigh It Forward, which has been supplying unwrapped toys to children in deprived areas of Los Angeles since 2006. Santa Claus will be present throughout the day with a break every 40 minutes.
Classes take place on Saturday mornings until December 18, 2021. There is a 10am session and an 11am session, each offering a different type of workout.
