Secluded Los Angeles Complex Sells for $ 56.55 Million

In Los Angeles, a leafy and secluded Mediterranean-style complex in the city’s Mandeville Canyon and flanked by the Santa Monica Mountains sold for $ 56.55 million last week.

The property was sold by entrepreneur Matt J. Wollman, a mogul who made headlines in 2003 when he sold his massage chair company Interactive Health for nearly nine-digit amounts.

A standout feature of the property is the outdoor area.

The gardens cover approximately 6.22 acres and are surrounded by another 7 acres of open space as well as the Santa Monica Mountain Preserve the listing with Jeff Hyland and David Kramer of Hilton and Hyland.

The agents launched the house for $ 64.5 million in October and declined through a representative to comment on the deal.

Outside, lavender and solitary trees are joined by an orchard with more than 20 types of fruit trees, vegetable and herb gardens, a hiking trail, a pool with a cabana and a championship-sized tennis court, according to the listing.

The main six bedroom complex house has a two story formal living room, huge dining room that seats 22 guests, wood paneled office and media room, and a kitchen area that opens to an outdoor pergola.

Upstairs there is a game room, fitness room and master bedroom suite with living room and double wardrobes.

Downstairs in the basement and through a towering vault door, a room prepared for meetings is equipped with the latest technology and security functions, according to the listing.

Mr. Wollman paid $ 25.3 million for the property in 2007 through a limited liability company he manages and shares an address with Strategic Services International, a global security advisory and advisory firm led by the tycoon, records show .

He could not be reached for comment.

A sales log has yet to be made publicly available, so Mansion Global was unable to identify the buyer of the house.
