Search warrants served in connection with SoCal murder

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police served search warrants throughout the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley Tuesday in connection with the murder of a man in his 80s, Eyewitness News has learned.

Stuart Herman was shot and killed March 2 in a home invasion after two or three suspects broke into his Encino residence through an open garage door. It’s unknown if any arrests were made Tuesday.

Herman was fatally shot after a physical altercation with the suspects, police said.

A second victim, a man in his 60s, got to the home shortly to find Herman dead. He was pistol-whipped by the suspects before they fled, according to investigators.

Herman and the second victim had just come back from shopping at Costco.
