This summer camp – the architecture summer camp produced by the Southern California Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects – is open to interested young people aged 10 to 17.

Who knows? She could become the next Norma Sklarek. She was the first black woman to become a licensed architect in the United States and worked on several Southern California projects, including the Pacific Design Design Center.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) is hosting on Saturday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at spcaLA PD Pitchford Companion Animal Village & Education Center, 7700 E. Spring Street in Long. an inexpensive clinic for vaccines and beach microchips. In the clinic on Saturday, spcaLA’s medical staff will administer vaccines for dogs and cats as well as flea / tick treatments, wormers and microchips.

The clinic is held outdoors with clear markings for social distancing. The examination area is disinfected after each patient and hand disinfectant is provided everywhere. A mask is required and must be worn over the mouth and nose at all times. Please stay home if you feel sick or if you or someone you have recently been in contact with has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has shown symptoms.

The 50th anniversary of the classic Bruce Brown film “On Any Sunday” will be celebrated at the 2021 NBA Racers Reunion & Vintage BMX Bike Show at the unique Valley Relics Museum, dedicated to preserving the history of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

The film inspired the sport and classic motocross bikes, which were then designed for and by teenagers to resemble adult motorcycles, as well as the sport’s superstars including ABA and BMX Hall of Fame racer Bob Encinas and BMX freestyler Rick Dorn .
