On January 10, 2022, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has a count of 459 pc – burglary and a count of 148.9 (a) pc – providing false information to a peace officer against Mynor Calderon aka: Jose Manuel Rojas, a 23 year old. , filed -old homeless man.

On January 6, 2022, the Santa Monica Police Department opened a report of a break-in into an apartment on the 200 block of California Avenue where a safe was reported. A forensics specialist responded to take photos and keep latent prints. When the forensic scientist spoke to the victim outside the residence, a man who was later identified as Calderon walked past them. The victim immediately noticed that Calderon was wearing a shirt that was his.

The victim and forensic technician went back to the unit to find that his front door was now closed and bolted. SMPD officials, including a K9 officer and his partner, responded to investigate further. The officers searched the apartment and found Calderon in a bedroom. He was taken into custody without incident. Calderon carried a backpack and possessions of the victim. He also initially gave police officers a fictional name. While on the station, SMPD officers learned his real identity and found that he had an unbailed arrest warrant from Los Angeles for a deadly weapon attack. Calderon was booked for his misdemeanors.
