Santa Monica Police and Fire Department keep people from jumping off cliffs

The Santa Monica Police and Fire Department prevented a person from jumping off the cliff this week.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), the incident was reported early evening on December 6th in Palisades Park north of Santa Monica Pier.

The SMPD Crisis Negotiations Team and the Santa Monica Fire Department responded to a call regarding a young woman on the cliff who was identified as in distress.

“With patience and extensive training, the officers were able to convince them to accept help,” said the SMPD.
