Santa Monica Invites Community Input on Human Services Grants Program FY2023-2027 Request for Proposals

The City of Santa Monica invites public input at two upcoming meetings on the Human Services Grants Program (HSGP)’s 2023-2027 Request for Proposals (RFP). In addition to the programs and services the Housing and Human Services Division oversees, the City contributes approximately $8 million annually through the HSGP to public and non-profit organizations that improve the wellbeing and quality of life of vulnerable and low-income residents.

“This program funds key services in our community that address the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Santa Monica Mayor Sue Himmelrich. “We want to hear from the all of the diverse voices in our city and my personal thanks go to the Social Services Commission for dedicating the time to hear from Santa Monicans.”

The two upcoming meetings will cover various elements of the RFP. On February 28, the meeting will cover topics such as eligibility criteria for applicants and populations they propose to serve, as well as how applications will be reviewed and scored. At the March 28 meeting, topics will cover proposed grantee outcomes and reporting. A RFP for the grant cycle Fiscal Year 2023-2027 will be released fall 2022 inviting qualified non-profit organizations to apply for funding.

The meetings will take place during the regular Social Services Commission meetings on the evenings of Monday, February 28 and Monday, March 28 and will begin at 7 pm The meeting agenda packet, including instructions about how to join, will be available on the Social Services Commission website at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
