Food campaign for CSUN Food Pantry: The First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills Community Concerns Committee is holding a non-perishable food campaign on September 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and September 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. near the grocery pantry at Cal State University in Northridge Topping up benefits students who do not have a high income for food during school time. Current needs: canned food and dry packaging such as pasta; also hygiene items such as soap, women’s products and shampoos. Clear the Shelters – A campaign by NBC4 / KNBC and Telemundo 52 / KVEA: The annual event, which focuses on pet adoption at animal shelters and a fundraiser, has started and will run through September 19. Online monetary donations go to food, supplies and medical care for animal shelter (donation partner is Greater Good Charities; donation to a rescue group or to an animal shelter here: bit.ly/3DhyMwH). Subaru is the local sponsor and Hill’s Pet Nutrition is the national sponsor of the campaign.
