Russian-speaking Jewish community group will offer free borsch to raise awareness in Ukraine – Daily News

The Russian-speaking Jewish community group JuRashki will host an event on Sunday in Tarzana in support of Ukraine.

The guests will be offered a free cup of the traditional Ukrainian borsch, a hearty soup made of beets, carrots and cabbage.

Organizers are trying to raise awareness about the war in Ukraine by offering the staple of Slavic cuisine, according to the group’s Facebook page.

“Ukraine is in the fight for its survival because of the unprovoked war started by Russia. Come support your friends, neighbors, and enjoy a cup of traditional Ukrainian Borsch,” the group said.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 13, at 3 pm at Oliv’e Food Market at 19200 Ventura Blvd. in Tarzana.
