Pedestrian Collision near La Brea Avenue Left One Fatality

SANTA MONICA, CA (Aug 9, 2022) – On Tuesday, A pedestrian accident on the 10 Freeway claimed the life of 67-year-old Robert Brown.

The crash occurred at 3:58 am along eastbound 10 Freeway west of La Brea Avenue, per initial reports.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was struck by an unidentified vehicle in the roadway, however, the main events that led to the crash remain unknown.

Responding medics arrived and declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. They were later identified as 67-year-old Brown by the LA County Corner’s office.

Furthermore, the crash closed the four lanes of 10 Freeway for an extended period of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Santa Monica Police continue to investigate the fatal crash and will release updates once available.
