San Pedro, CA / Moderate shaking (MMI V) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 1-2 s : 4.3 intensity. We live between Point Fermin Park and Cabrillo Beach, not too far from Sunken City. Our whole house shook, including pots and pans. In the 11 years that I have lived in San Pedro, this is the strongest quake that I have actually felt. | 10 users found this interesting.

- I was in the kitchen. Thought that there was an explosion Very nearby(with a bit of a vertical jolt). Then, the sound rumbled longer and the pots, pans, and dishes began to shake…realized it was an earthquake… started to get up…and it was over. Or seemed to be…as the screen door continued to shake for another 10-15 seconds… and then it was over.

Nothing else disturbed. Aftershock lasted to the 8-10 secs. The initial shake was approx. 4-5 secs and the rest aftershock. Most intense earthquake I’ve felt, My adult son in another room had bottles fall from shelves, other toiletries fall to floor. Don’t see any structural damage, no power loss.
