Ocean Water Use Warnings Extend At Santa Monica Beaches

SANTA MONICA, CA — An ocean water use warning was extended Tuesday night for people surfing or playing at several Los Angeles County beaches, including multiple Santa Monica beaches.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents before visiting the following beaches:

  • Mother’s Beach at Marina Del Rey
  • Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
  • Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach
  • Topanga Canyon Beach in Malibu
  • Pico-Capsized Storm Drain at Santa Monica Beach Tower 20
  • Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro
  • Strand Extension at Santa Monica Beach

“The warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested,” public health officials said.
