Mega Millions lottery: Did you win Tuesday’s $20M drawing? Winning numbers, live results (02/01/22)

The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has rolled back to an estimated $20 million with a cash option of $13.7 million after someone who bought a ticket in Los Angeles won Friday’s $426 million prize.

The winning numbers were 62, 24, 66, 11, 38. The Mega Ball drawn was 1 with a Megaplier of 4x.

In New Jersey, a pair of third-prize tickets were sold for Friday’s drawing, each matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

A $30,000 ticket was purchased at Royal Farms on East Evesham Avenue in Magnolia, while a $10,000 ticket was bought at Ocean City Discount on West Avenue in Ocean City. One ticket is more valuable because that winner spent an extra $1 for the Megaplier option.

In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket bought in California for Friday’s drawing, there were also four second-prize tickets sold across the country. Each matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.

A ticket purchased in Ohio is worth $3 million because it was bought with the Megaplier option for an extra $1. Tickets sold in Mississippi, Texas and Larchmont, New York are worth $1 million each.

The jackpot-winning ticket sold in the Woodland Hills area of the San Fernando Valley is the 29th largest in US lottery history. It has a cash value of $292.9 million. The final jackpot amount was higher than the $421 million estimate, based on actual sales.

Friday’s winning numbers were: 3, 16, 25, 44 and 55. The Mega Ball drawn was 13 with a Megaplier of 3X.

The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.

The game is played in 45 states, Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The New Jersey Lottery offices in Lawrence are now open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm if players prefer to drop off claims and validate winning tickets in person. Claims can be left in a secure drop box at lottery headquarters. That option applies to prizes worth more than $599.50.

If a player wins a prize of $25,000 or more (or otherwise feels more comfortable submitting a claim in person) appointments can still be made to meet with a lottery representative in person by calling 1-800-222-0996.

Prizes valued at $599.50 or less should still be claimed at lottery retailers.
