A man will be hospitalized Tuesday after an argument broke out in Santa Monica over wearing a mask, according to witnesses.
According to witnesses, a security guard confronted the victim Monday night in a Vons supermarket about his refusal to wear a mask and an argument quickly escalated.
“There was a brawl” between the guard and the victim, witness Andre Berryman told ABC7, and eventually, according to Berryman, the guard pulled a knife and stabbed the victim.
The man was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
A mask requirement for Los Angeles went into effect Monday and Los Angeles County has an indoor mask requirement.
