Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que adds plant-based steak to the menu

WOODLAND HILLS, CA – As plant-based menus become increasingly popular with diners, grill hotspot Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, located in the San Fernando Valley in Woodland Hills, is launching its first vegetarian main course for those who prefer meat-free meals – the slowly smoked and grilled cauliflower steak.

The cauliflower steak with a thick piece of cauliflower, marinated in Lucille’s special spices, slowly smoked, grilled and topped with homemade chimichurri sauce, is served with garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed seasonal vegetables and another chimichurri sauce for dipping.

“Our guests appreciate the way our slow-smoked style gives our ribs, briskets, chicken, and pork their juicy taste,” said Joan Hansen, Lucille’s director of marketing for the chain, which operates 23 restaurants in California, Nevada and Arizona. “Now we’re taking the same approach with this new slow-smoked and grilled cauliflower steak that is very satisfying in the familiar and signature Lucille way.”

For another vegetarian option at Lucille’s: Roasted Street Corn offers roasted corn that is coated with coriander and lime butter and rolled in cotija cheese.
