With the 2021 Los Angeles Marathon happening on Sunday, drivers are encouraged to plan ahead for road closures along the 42.2-mile route.
KTLA Channel 5 will report live on the event this Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Spectators can also follow the race on KTLA.com, the KTLA 5 News App, KTLAs YouTube or KTLA +.
This is how you see the 2021 Los Angeles Marathon
The marathon route begins at Dodger Stadium, runs through West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and ends in Century City.
The route will be closed to car traffic for six and a half hours immediately after the last runner has crossed the starting line.
Road closures begin at 3 a.m., and some roads are closed until the afternoon.

The streets along the racetrack will be marked with “no parking” signs 72 hours before the event. Offending vehicles will be given a ticket and towed away.

No motorways will be closed on race day, but some ramps along Motorways 110 and 101 to the north and south will be affected, as will some ramps on Motorway 405 to the south.
