LA County Launches Free COVID-19 Test Kit Collection Program

LA County has launched a COVID-19 test kit collection program that allows Angelenos to receive free tests at home.

A total of 13 free pick-up locations for COVID testing have been scattered across the county, with distribution starting in the morning until daily testing is complete.

The test kits are polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests that you can take home and administer yourself. The tests must then be returned to the same test site, where the results are available within 24 to 48 hours.

No appointments are required, however there will be an online registration process that will activate the kit. An email is also required to receive the results of the test.

The prerequisite for the free tests is that the residents either have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
