Los Angeles (CBSLA) – Government offices and libraries across Southland will be closed for Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday.
State and federal courts and most banks will also close for the day and there will be no US mail delivery.

Schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District will remain open and Los Angeles buses and subways will operate on a regular schedule, including Metrolink trains. The shops are expected to remain open as usual.

In 2017, Los Angeles City Council voted to establish Indigenous Peoples Day as the second Monday in October, replacing Columbus Day.
However, Columbus Day remains a federal holiday.
