Forgiveness process for street sweeping quotes

At its meeting last night, the Santa Monica City Council approved a forgiveness program for street sweeper quotes issued between August 30th and September 3rd. Only street sweeping quotes are given through a process that is now active until October 5, 2021. Already paid quotes are eligible and refundable.

The city resumed weekly street sweeping on August 30 and launched a large-scale awareness campaign to reach residents with the new schedule. Information was shared on the city’s website; Posted to 52,000 social media followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Nextdoor; included in the bi-weekly SaMoNews community newsletter, which is sent to over 23,000 email addresses; posted on digital message boards across Santa Monica; and included in the September issue of Seascape. Community members who have received quotes for street sweeping can go through the following quotation forgiveness process until October 5, 2021:

1. Submit an initial audit application to the city confirming that the recipient of the quote posted no ads in the newspaper and did not see any street sweep between August 30th and 3rd website posting learned). Requests for review can be made in the following ways:

A. Online at (preferred);

B. Letter to City of Santa Monica, PO Box 515213 Los Angeles, CA 90024;

C. Call 800-214-1526 to request the customer service representative for the initial inspection; or

D. In person at 1575 Westwood Blvd., Suite 100-B, Los Angeles, CA 90024 (open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

2. Once the request is received and whether or not it has been pre-paid, the city will reject the quote on the basis of a determination that extenuating circumstances make the rejection of the quote appropriate and, if applicable, a refund will be made for a previously issued quote paid.
